Record labels for The Romantics' new releases
Feb 8th, 2012 at 4:50am

Hi friends, please let me know what you think. I have compiled a list of record labels that would be perfect for possibly funding and/or releasing new titles by The Romantics. This could include a new studio album, a new greatest hits live album, a studio rarities compilation or unreleased live performances from the 80s/90s.

Alive Naturalsound Records would be the best fit for The Romantics. This label specializes in bands who have the sound that The Romantics helped to create.

Alive released the new Paul Collins Beat album, which features Wally Palmar playing harmonica on one of the songs. The album was recorded at producer Jim Diamond's Ghetto Recorders studio in Detroit, which is where The White Stripes recorded, in addition to The Romantics when they made the "61/49" album.

Even better, Alive has reissued complete studio recordings and classic live albums of unreleased recordings by The Plimsouls, The Breakaways and The Nerves, which are all groups with Peter Case/Paul Collins.

Get Hip Recordings is a rock record label specializing in garage, power pop and punk rock. This label has released new studio albums and re-issues of the classic albums by The Paul Collins Beat. Back in the 70s and 80s, there were about 4 bands making the kind of music The Romantics make. Those bands were The Romantics, The Paul Collins Beat, The Plimsouls and The Knack. The Plimsouls' singer Peter Case now performs with a solo band and The Knack's lead singer Doug Fieger passed away a couple years ago. The Romantics and The Paul Collins Beat are still active.
