Halloween

As we approach Halloween this year, the question came up, "What do you remember dressing up as when you were little?"  And do you have any photos to share?

My costumes when I was little were pretty lame...animals, cowboys, etc.

My better costumes came more recently:  Edward Scissorhands, Billy Idol, Gary Numan, Kurt Cobain (complete with bullet hole in the head), Milli Vanilli, Max Headroom, etc.

As far as the Cobain costume, wouldn't it be more accurate if half the head was missing? After all, it was a shotgun.

True, but I couldn't figure out a way to remove half of my head.  So I just went with the single bullet hole with lotsa blood running down.

Was it you Brew or someone else on the board who was in a horror/slasher movie?  Good effects on that one!

I know Ron Ashton was in a real low budget horror movie that had a song in the soundtrack by Elvis Hitler.

Hi there! I'm  late as usual.

I've been all sorts of things over the years....

Some of the more mundane costumes I had as a kid: (clown, Wonder Woman (remember the days when they actually made little plastic masks for kids?), Fairy princess, etc.)
In college one Halloween, my hubby was a pimp and my friend and I were his hookers--
someone almost took him seriously (and almost crapped their pants) at the Halloween party when he demanded money when they started hitting on us.
One year, he was a mad professor and I was the bride of Frankenstein (I had 80s mall chick hair at that time--does anyone remember the joys of "Dippity Do" gel and Aussie Sprunch Spray (smelled like grape popsicles in the purple pump spray bottle? Sadly, they restructured the formula and it no longer has the holding power of shellac).  With Dippity Do & Aussie Sprunch Spray, I could sleep on my hair and still have it be perfect the next day... LOL

More recently, we've been an assortment of things at my friends' family's Halloween "scene"
(They get about 4,000 people through their yard in Northville). Here's a few costumes I've done in the past decade:

An Egyptian queen
Harry Potter's friend (my hubby was Harry)
50's gal complete w/ poodle skirt
Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz
The Top Hat from Monopoly
Tweedledee/Tweedle Dum (with Hubby) for Alice in Wonderland
This year, I was a Monster Dental Office Manager and my hubby was a crazy dentist....

I love Halloween! It's the 1 time of year, you get to dress completely out of the norm without having anyone wonder what you are doing!

Hm. I hear that Wally is an old horror movie buff.

Oldfriend. Do you know if he ever dressed like the Mummy or any of the characters from those old B-movies?

pinkbubelz forgot we did Robin Hood for her friend, too. I was Robin and she was Maid Marian, I think.

We have pics somewhere. I have a few of me as a kid in a Batman costume somewhere, too.
