Billy Henderson, a singer with The Spinners has died at the age of 67 of complications from diabetes. He passed away at a Daytona Beach health care facility.

"Formed in 1954 in Ferndale, Mich., by five high school friends, The Spinners had a string of Top 20 hits in the '70s, including "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love," "Then Came You" and "The Rubberband Man." The group was nominated for six Grammy Awards and was the first black musical group to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, reports The Associated Press."

The Spinners were one of my favorite groups throughout my jr. high and high school years (in the '70's, when most of the rock on the radio was sucky).  They put out some of the smoothest R&B.
