30 years of The Romantics!

I wonder if the band has anything planned?

As a fan, I think it might be cool to put together some kind of
gathering of memorabilia....  or a scrapbook of the band's first 30 years...

A little while back, I mentioned doing some kind of scrapbook project, where each fan could put together
a scrapbook page (12 x 12) with their memories and (copies, not originals) of their memorabilia from the past
30 years (or whenever they started following the band.)

If anyone is interested, let me know...
Maybe we could put together something as a group! Wink   My dad also has a small art gallery--if we get enough
fan pages, and the blessing of the band, maybe we can do some sort of exhibit at the gallery sometime this year.... Smiley

I remember you mentioning this some time ago in a thread that is probably long lost by now.  Might be interesting to see what folks come up with and how much participation there would be.   Cool

Gosh, I have two photo albums full of stuff, from clipped articles to photos to stuff I wrote about them. I could just start scanning and printing. Smiley

Seriously, I took probably hundreds of photos of the band during their "lean" years -- starting with the Rhythm Romance tour and including numerous shows up through the early to mid-1990s. It would take forever to scan them all, but I really should share. Good stuff. I even have a number of David Petratos shots.

I only wish that I knew who he was at the time that I saw him during some of the Florida shows!  I knew he looked familiar, but I couldn't place him!  I could have met your request easily!  Cross your fingers that there will be a next time and I will be happy to oblige! Wink

Pretty amazing when you think about it. Not many bands are around for that long, and hardly any have stayed together the whole time for that many years. Lots of bands break up, reunite, break up, reunite again etc. The Romantics have been together in one form or another the whole time, through the ups and downs. Keep on rockin' guys.

Hi - just signed up for the board.  I've sort of rediscovered the Romantics while digitizing some old live recordings.  It was over 29 years ago that I saw them for the first time, opening for the Police at The Decade in Pittsburgh.  Shortly after that, the band I played with opened for them a couple of times at the same place.  I sure am glad to see that they made it through all of the legal hassles and are still playing - they're a great band and deserve all the continued success that they get.
