More so clever here...

My bros band is called 'Heathrow Gunn.' They are huge Led Zepplin fans(Heathrow airport is where zepplins took off from and Gunn is a nod to Guns and Roses).

A couple of my favorites:

Dogs Die in Hot Cars

Helena Handbasket

and, of course, probably none stranger than the world famous "the Violent Femmes".

So many great, wonderful names...but...
over all the decades one of my favorites is still
the Will Rigby post dB's project...
"WIPE ME MOMMY!"
I actually did see them once at the late, great Tuts in Chicago.

Locally, there was a band "Goober & the Peas".  "Goober" (Dan Miller) graduated a few years before me from my high school. Smiley  He was actually a part of the high school band, "The Slicks" who first introduced me to the music of The Romantics in 1981. (Their guitarist took lessons from Mike Skill.)

Dan Miller (Goober) was in "Walk the Line" --I haven't seen the film but I understand that he played Johnny Cash's band member, Luther Perkins....

Don't know why I never got to see Goober and the Peas-- I didn't realize it was Dan Miller until a drummer friend told me recently! They were big when I was in college, but my friends and I tended to go dancing / drinking vs. going to bars to see live bands back then (cheap college students-- we opted for the $0.25 beers vs. paying a cover to see a band! LOL)

I never had enough cash back then to see our beloved Romantics until after the Rhythm Romance tour...   But, in a way, I'm glad-- I am now a bigger fan than ever--I probably wouldn't have had nearly as much of an opportunity to meet the band when they were at the peak of popularity!

I saw Goober & the Peas a few times back in the early 90's.
I believe a certain Jack Gillis (aka White) also served some time with them.
They were alot of fun live.
Being a huge Jason and the Scorchers fan, they carried the cowpunk torch well.
