"STONE PONY"!!

"Tomboy" is also a great rocker.  And I love "21 and Over", the Romantics only venture into the ska sound.  This is one of my favorite Romantics LP's...I've been looking to upgrade to cd but the few I can find are really pricey.

I agree--I only have this on vinyl and tape (a rather well-used tape at that!)  Too bad they do not carry their earlier CDs on the website!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

that's a thought....

I have always liked "Take Me Out Of The Rain."  I think it's an underappreciated "pop" song.  It sort of reminded me of The Hollies.

"21 and Over" and "A Night Like This" are my favorites, but I LOVE this whole album.  Sadly, for me, I only have it on vinyl. Cry

Iris, GET ONE!  They are pretty cheap, and you will have a blast listening to your old vinyl (if you didn't dump it).

Vinyl rules! If you get something, do it right. Get a turntable that is upper line and get a real good cartridge. It makes a difference if your vinyl is in good shape.

LOL-- no, I didn't dump my old vinyl, in fact I recently (last year) bought some additional Romantics Vinyl at a local used record shop... Smiley

I have YET to listen to any of them...

Oldfriend-- any suggestions on where to get a decent record player for a reasonable price?  I really don't want to break the bank on a record player....

If you want to make sure that you get some quality equipment, go to Pecars on Rochester road between 16 and 17 mile. They have great equipment and a knowledgeable staff. You can get there by going north on I-75 to the Rochester Road exit (next exit after Oakland Mall). Turn right and go about a half mile. It is on the right.

Try ebay or www.half.com...you can pick up any of them for under $10, most for under $5.  That's what I've been doing.  The only one I can't get for a decent price is "National Breakout".

ROFLMAO @ Boris....

I think I owned one of those in my childhood....

Oldfriend
I will have to see what my cash flow is like after Christmas... might have to check out that place--Can you suggest someone to talk to?

I think I have 2 copies of National Breakout (on vinyl)... Don't have any of the early albums on CD-- only vinyl.... (and old tapes I made of my vinyl, so that I could preserve my records....)

My fave on this album: "Poor Little Rich Girl".  I'd love to know what kind of guitar/amp Mike used in this song.

My favorite all-time Romantics song is On a Night Like This. On this album I loved that one and Friday at the Hideout plus Take Me Out of the Rain.  Hell, I love the whole darn thing!

When, oh, when will we get a DVD?  I have to add this to my growing collection of concerts! Since I live in the boonies it seems to be the only way to get any concerts other than what the locals are playing, sadly, at the local watering holes.    Cry
