Title: Ways for The Romantics to increase and maintain fanbase

Nobody can ignore the correlation of success and fan relationship. The Romantics have so many opportunities for future success and I believe 2012 will be the year!

Imitation is flattery. Take a look at what Cheap Trick, The Smithereens and Hermans Hermits starring Peter Noone are doing. Visit their websites and see the efforts they have made, which seem to be paying off. These artists are making money and the fans are happy.

Here is a starting list. Feel free to add to this list. Personally, as a dedicated longtime fan, I would be willing to participate in everything on this list.

-Meet and greets, signing merchandise (CDs, DVDS, photos)
-Organize Street teams (fans recruit new fans online and in their city)
-Offer merchandise (CDs, DVDs, photos, shirts)
-New organized website with news updates, sound clips and music videos (refer to Cheap Trick's website)
-Allow performances to be taped or recorded, assuming venue allows (Grateful Dead did this)
-Annually offer free MP3 song, music video or interview video

Bands such as Cheap Trick saw a slump in the mid 90s, but have been able to reclaim a new and even larger fanbase through a combination of common sense and some basic strategies all bands should employ.

*I find it funny at Hermans Hermits shows when Peter Noone tells the audience they have his permission to make copies and share his CDs with their friends! Peter realizes that it's all about word of mouth.

Just showing up to the gig and playing is not enough for band to succeed in 2012.
