Title: Joey Molland Badfinger, Pete Ham and Craig Marshall
Post by domingo on Apr 14th, 2011 at 12:25pm
I am wondering if anyone has seen the groups Badfinger featuring Joey Molland or The Craig Marshall Band? I saw both artists together at a club some years back and Joey actually had Craig come onstage to sing lead vocals on several of the Badfinger hits that were originally sung by Badfinger's deceased primary lead singer, Pete Ham.

I would say Craig's voice on those sounds, sounded very close if not nearly identical to that of Pete's. As my wife would say, it was "eery." Then I always gently grab her ear and say "how eary!"

They both have deeper sounding voices, but just enough deepness to work. A few years back, was when I saw Craig Marshall open for The Badfinger featuring Joey Molland group. I could sense that Joey was impressed by Craig's voice, because it hauntingly resembled that of the late Pete Ham. It reminded me of how Foreigner replaced their original lead singer Lou Gramm, with a new singer who sounds very close to Lou. I don't know if Craig is touring with Joey or if they recorded anything.

Here is the website for Craig Marshall. He kind of looks like Pete Ham a little, but he is probably around 35 or 40 years of age and Pete would probably be in his late 60s by now.
