Title: Romantics Live In Holland 1980
Post by oldfriend on Sep 2nd, 2008 at 11:25am
Someone has posted some great early live footage from Dutch TV of the Romantics on Youtube. There are several clips including "Comin' Back Home" and "Judy Be Mine". Some great stuff. If you never saw the Romantics back in the day, this is a good example of the band that a lot of us remember who saw them live almost 30 years ago.

Wow, now that is kool! Just type in Romantics Dutch Tv and all the Holland videos will come up. The things I always notice about the early stuff is the energy on stage, Jimmys crazy good drumming, How much faster What I Like used to be played, and how important Rich Coles backing vocals were.....

What I would love to see is anything live from The Strictly Personal era......

Well, if what Wally says is true, and I'm sure it is, he was there. All you would get for most of the tour with (Strictly Personal) UFO is the crowd yelling F*** You all night long. Wally said that the pairing with that band and the UFO crowd probably wasn't a good match. Oh yeah, they also were not in the right spot to be wearing All Pink Leather outfits.

Funny story. Maybe he will post the full thing on here sometime. I love that LP, very raw guitars and The Nighttime is one of my favorite tunes by the Romantics.

I actually remember that story!  Very funny!  Would have been interesting to have been a fly on the wall somewhere for that one!  Maybe he will tell it again in some colorful way! ;D
