i have just learned about this wonderful benefit gala taking place this saturday locally that some here might be interested in.

Stars Guitars is an annual event benefiting the Dr. Charles A. Main Scholarship Fund at Beaumont Hospitals. The fund is named for Charles A. Main, MD, Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Beaumont Hospitals, who wanted to provide financial assistance for his patients to pursue their educational goals.

The scholarship program was created to assist young cancer survivors in meeting the expenses of advanced education, and to honor outstanding achievements made by present and former patients of the pediatric hematology/oncology department at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. Recipients are selected on a competitive basis of merit.

The event will feature a live and silent auction, a strolling buffet and desserts, and a live performance by legendary rock and roll musician Eddie Money!  Event MC will be Channel 2 New's Huel Perkins.
